ERC training – How to write a competitive ERC grant?
About the ERC training programme
It is widely acknowledged that acquiring an ERC grant is very demanding. Not only due to the high level of competition, but also because writing a strong ERC proposal is a significant investment of both time and resources. In our view, an ERC grant should propose challenging (high-risk & high-gain) frontier research that clearly distinguishes the work from previous research conducted by the researcher. At the same time, you need to demonstrate personal excellence and prove that you are optimally qualified and equipped for the proposed tasks.
Are you ready for an ERC grant?
Are you wondering whether you or the researchers in your department are ready to submit a competitive ERC grant? Are you unsure how to highlight your/their CV(s) and research plan(s) in the best possible way? Do you want to know where to start and how to build a sound and structured ERC grant proposal?
Interactive and personalised training
In our interactive training sessions and workshops, we demonstrate how to best develop an ERC (StG, CoG, AdG and PoC) project. We introduce our FFWD method (Fit, Framework, Write and Development) for winning grant proposals and discuss key aspects that will allow you or your researchers to stand out among your competitors. The plenary sessions and exercises we provide are based on our >9 years of grant writing experience, covering many different types of grants (including all ERC types). In addition, we will prepare you or your researchers for the ERC presentation / interview. Since flexibility is key to our training activities, we will assess the training needs together with you to build a tailored programme for your researchers.
Early stage researchers (2-7 years of postgraduate experience) with leadership potential (ERC Starting Grant)
Mid-career researchers (7-12 years of postgraduate experience) who want to establish their own independent research team (ERC Consolidator Grant)
Established PIs (with 10 years of excellent track record) who want to pursue ground-breaking high-risk projects (ERC Advanced Grant)
